In February of 1989 Barking Spiders played Mepham High School's Battle of the Bands...and lost...of course. The "celebrity" judges were two deejays from WBAB and two members of a band called Ninja...whoever they were...and the MC for the show was our very own Jim Muscarella (Producer of Bellmore: The Unscene). I remember the mutual agreement after this show was that it was the best the Barking Spiders ever played. A personal victory for us even though the judges didn't agree. The cash prize went to Majestic...a Journey cover band.

John's bass drum kept sliding on the gymnasium floor so Steve Zielinski helped out by sitting in front of it. His ears must've been ringing afterwards.If anyone has video or audio from this performance please leave me a comment. Thanks.
