Bellmore Trivia

When I was doing research for the documentary I learned that a few celebrities grew up in Bellmore. Stand-up comic/political satirist Lenny Bruce (pictured above) grew up in Bellmore, and attended Wellington C. Mepham High School.

Hollywood actor George Kennedy (Cool Hand Luke, The Dirty Dozen, The Naked Gun) grew up in Bellmore and graduated from WC Mepham High School.

Comedian/ impersonator/actor Fred Travalena also grew up in Bellmore and graduated from Mepham.
