Billy Kelly - Dear Santa Claus (2011)
I'm going to jump ahead in my chronological posting in the next few days as to share a few Christmas related post – 'tis the season, after all.
First up is Billy Kelly's Christmas themed EP, Dear Santa Claus. It features four brand-new Christmas songs by Billy and one slightly off-kilter version of "Jingle Bells". He recorded the EP with a few local session musicians from his hometown of Lewisburg PA. (Joe DeChristopher on guitar, Bill Stetz on bass, Steve Adams on accordion, and Grammy-award winning drummer Steve Mitchell on drums.) Billy and his daughters, Jane and Lilly, also showcased a little sketch comedy on the opening track, "That's How You Know It's Christmas" – my kids' personal favorite.
Check that one out here…
And here's a little video for "Let's Make Christmas Last"…
Dear Santa Claus can be purchased at iTunes or Amazon. All proceeds from the sale of the EP go to Camp Victory (www.campvictory.org), a non-profit summer camp for kids who are chronically ill or physically challenged. Last year Billy raised close to $700 for the cause.
Here's the track listing:
1. That's How You Know It's Christmas (Billy Kelly)
2. A Doozy of a Christmas Eve (William "Billy" Kelly)
3. Dear Santa Claus (Won't You Give Me Just One More Chance?) (Bill "William" Kelly)
4. Glebells Jing! (James Lord Pierpont)
5. Let's Make Christmas Last (Billy "Bill" Kelly)
